travel beauty to go

I was recently published on a website dedicated to beauty, food and entertainment called Divine Caroline. They are connected to magazines like Ladies Home Journal and Fitness Magazine and wanted everyday writers to contribute to their site. Since summer is here I decided to write an article about summer beauty and travel, two things that I love and I know a lot of you can relate to.

Enjoy!

Travel Beauty To Go

Summer has made its appearance, and the mood changes to one of total ease. With the hot weather, pool time and cute summer dresses, keeping it easy and fun is what it’s all about.

Since traveling to beautiful beaches, cruising to hot locations or getting away for the weekend is most popular this time of year, here are some essential beauty products to take with you that not only serve multiple functions, but also come in convenient, TSA approved sizes. Stop lugging all your beauty products around and go for some essential items that’ll keep you looking beautiful and stress free.

There are beauty products out in the marketplace right now that are great for travel because of their multiple functionality, flawless adaptability to take from day to night, airport friendly sizes and ease of use. We have all seen these products, so lets take a closer look.

Stop #1: Hair
Who has time to mess with a blow dryer, flat iron, styling products and bobby pins? When the weather is hot and you just want to relax, your hair routine should as well. Cut your grooming time by buying some dry shampoo. These have been in the stores for some time now, and their role is to cut down on the number of time you wash your hair by absorbing excess oils that can make your hair look greasy. It’s also great if you want to pull it up in a ponytail since dirty hair is easier to manage.

To use: spray at the roots, rub in and style as normal. It’s that easy.

Here are some great ones to test out:

TIGI Rockaholic Dirty Secret
Oscar Blandi Pronto Dry Shampoo
Bumble and Bumble Hair Powder

Stop #2: Face
BB cream (also known as blemish balm or beauty balm) has finally made its way to the US. Super popular in Japan, this cream is multi functional because it serves the purpose of a moisturizer, light foundation, SPF and blemish cream all in one little tube. For the summertime, this product is perfect since this tube will replace about 4 or 5 products in your makeup bag right now that does the same thing. It’s easy to apply and gives your skin that soft, effortless and natural look.

To use: apply a small amount and apply to face, adding a bit extra on blemishes.

Here are some great ones to test out:

Smashbox Camera Ready BB Cream
Stila All Day Stay 10-in-1 HD Beauty Balm
Dior Hydra Life BB Cream

Stop #3: Body
The one thing that comes in mind when you take the words summer and body is sunscreen. There is an easier way to carry around sunscreen without the risk of leaky bottles, travel size appropriate and overall bulkiness. Sunscreen wipes have come into the scene and provide an easier way to get that necessary protection. No bulky bottles or spillage. Now that’s what I’m talking about!

To use: use wipes generously to legs, arms, torso and any other area that you would apply sunscreen. Throw away after use.

Here are some great ones to try:

Supergoop! SPF 30 Sunscreen Wipes
Shady Day Daily Sun Protection Wipes
La Fresh Sunscreen Wipes

Now that you’re guarded and ready, let’s make this summer all about ease. Who’s ready for some pool time?
